Kodak is resurrecting the Super 8 with a new camera! (5 pics)

Kodak is reviving the Super 8 film by unveiling a little more its Super 8 Camera! In the digital age, but also surfing on the trend that perpetuates the art of vintage film photography, Kodak has decided to revive the iconic Super 8 camera with a modern design and options combining the benefits of digital and analog photography. Announced in 2016, Kodak offers us a preview of its camera with a first series of videos filmed in Super 8 by artists, creators and videographers.

The  Kodak Super 8 Camera uses Super 8 films through a system of cartridges, but also an SD card reader and an HDMI jack. The videos shot with this camera will be captured on the Super 8 film, but also recorded directly as a file. To take advantage of the grain of the film, you will then send you cartridges to develop, in the old fashion way. The film will then come to you first digitally, then by mail in film version.

An excellent concept that will please vintage video nostalgic. The Kodak Super 8 Camera should be available later this year for a pretty high price between $2,500 and $3,000.
