Covered with dolls, this Mexican island is a really frightening place (15 pics)

The Isla de Las Munecas, or the Island of Dolls, is without a doubt one of the most frightening places to spend your next vacation. Located on one of the canals of Xochimilco, south of Mexico City, this small island is haunted by the ghost of a girl, found drowned in the canal many years ago. A tortured spirit taking possession of the dolls during the night …

The drowned girl had been discovered by the only resident of the island, Don Julin Santana. Feeling that the tortured spirit of the little girl was still living there, the man decided to hang dolls on the trees to appease her. After spending almost 50 years hanging dolls on the island, Don Julin Santana drowned, and his body was found in the same place where the little girl was found. Surrounded by this morbid legend and covered with decrepit dolls, the infamous  Isla De Las Munecas  is now open to visitors. Who’s ready for it?
