Jacob Riis is a photographer born in Danemark in 1849 and who passed away in New York where he immigrated in order to find the “American Dream”. He was the photographer of the Great Depression which start in 1973 in Austria and spread it until the US to end in 1896. In his book titled How the Other Half Lives he documents the daily life of the buildings and the inhabitants of the “Big Apple”. Pictures that offer us a rare testimony of the dark episode of our economic history. He also was journalist for some newspapers like The New York Times.
