Alien Sneakers – Reebok unveils two new pairs in tribute to Aliens (5 pics)

After reediting the Aliens sneakers last year, Reebok today unveiled two new pairs in tribute to the Alien saga. Available in a limited edition on July 18th, this box entitled  Reebok Alien Stomper Final Battle will contain the two pairs of shoes, one black for the Alien Queen, the other yellow for the Power Loader, paying tribute once again to the cult movie  Aliens  by James Cameron, released in 1986.

A Sprawling Coral-Like Structure Suspended Above an Orlando Convention Center by Marc Fornes (7 pics)

All photos © Marc Fornes / The Very Many An interconnected pathway of tubular branches hangs above the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida, an installation produced from perforated aluminum by architect Marc Fornes and his studio The Very Many .  Under Magnitude , which appears like a large segment of bleached coral, is composed of over 4,600 strips of metal, each just a millimeter thick.

Uchujin translates to “alien”, and is the moniker for photographer Adrian Storey. A British photographer and filmmaker living in Tokyo states that he “would rather be an alien than an outsider”. This statement speaks to his work, as each of his series explores those that live outside the confines of social expectations and norms.k

An Alien Planet of Candy-like Rocks and Plants by David Brodeur (8 pics)

As part of his Celestial Series , Chicago-based digital artist David Brodeur rendered an alien world filled with berry-like plants, glowing crystals, and candy shaped orbs that sprout from the ground. Despite their exotic designs, Brodeur relies on common colors of familiar fruits to create this Willy Wonka-esque habitat where you can’t help but want to reach out and gobble everything up.
