The first artwork 3D printed in space (7 pics)

Entitled  Laugh Star , this creation is the first artwork printed in 3D in space, in gravity zero aboard the ISS . This sculpture by artist Eyal Gever , which represents a 3D visualization of the wave produced by a human laugh, was selected by  NASA and  Made In Space for the positive symbol it represents. It was generated by the artist through his  #Laugh project, an app allowing people to record their own laughter and pass it on to the artist. Made In Space is the creator of the 3D printers currently aboard the International Space Station , which allow astronauts to create tools and spare parts independently.
